Mit dem dem Vorgänger "III: Views Of Distant Towns" erhaschten die Isländer von GAVIN PORTLAND 2008 erste Lorbeeren in der HardCore- und Indieszene. Die Band ging das Nachfolgealbum "IV: Hand In Hand With Traitors, Back To Back With Whores" somit mit voller Kraft an - kam aber aufgrund der um sich greifenden Wirtschaftskrise; von der Island ja bekannterweise mit am schwersten getroffen wurde; ins Schlingern. Keine Kohle, kein Studio, kein Label, keine Platte. Das volle Programm an Minuspunkten also.
Es hieß also: sich auf das wesentliche konzentrieren. Kurze krachige Songs, direkte wesentliche textliche Infos, kein Indiedreck versaut mehr das HardCore-Brett zwischen Neurosis und Fugazi oder Fireside auf Meth. Die Platte startet wie eine Dampfwalze aus Wut und --->
Lärm, verliert aber manchmal leider an Fahrt und pendelt gen Midtempo. Schade eigentlich, da dabei Kraft verloren geht.
Eine Abrissbirne pendelt nunmal nicht ohne Grund schnell damit auch Bums dahintersteckt! Die Jungs würd ich aber auf jeden Fall mal live anschauen. Sind sicher ein Erlebnis, da der Scheiss wirklich gut, ehrlich und intensiv ist. Auf jeden Fall in diesem Monat DAS blutige Stück Fleisch für den Pit!
